Initial Contact with Munich Approach

APPROACH: OE-DMS, Munich Approach, good afternoon, radar contact. Descend to flight level zero-eight-zero, expect vectors for approach runway zero-eight right. QNH one-zero-one-eight hectopascals.

PILOT: Descend to flight level zero-eight-zero, expect vectors for runway zero-eight right, QNH one-zero-one-eight, OE-DMS.

Analysis: You made an initial contact with your position ("sixty miles south-southwest of Munich") and your routing ("direct Munich"). ATC responded with radar contact, a descent clearance, an approach expectation, and the QNH for Munich aerodrome (which is different from Salzburg's 1020, so you must update it). You read back the altitude, the runway expectation, and the QNH.
