Leaving the Control Zone: The Final Report

ATC "OE-CMV, cleared, you may leave the frequency " [Pilot switches off the frequency or monitors for further traffic]

PILOT: "D-EFGH, leaving Control Zone three thousand feet."

ATC "D-EFGH, ROGER, you may leave the frequency " [Pilot adjusts radio and continues flight plan]

Once you have been cleared to leave the frequency, you have successfully transitioned from the controlled aerodrome environment to en-route operations. You are now responsible for self-separation from other traffic and for maintaining awareness of your position relative to controlled airspace.
