Luftsportverein Kiel e.V. is an established aviation club based at Kiel-Holtenau Airport (ICAO: EDHK) in Germany, featuring a motorflight group with approximately 120 members and 90 active pilots. The club operates a fleet of noise-protected, 2- and 4-seat aircraft, including models like Robin HR 200, Cessna 172 variants, Piper Archer PA28, and Diamond Super Dimona motor gliders. These aircraft serve both training and recreational flying purposes, ranging from local flights to extended European and North African tours.
The club offers comprehensive pilot training programs from beginner to advanced levels, including the Private Pilot License (PPL-A) and Light Aircraft Pilot License (LAPL-A). Training is delivered by experienced volunteer flight instructors and encompasses theoretical and practical instruction, night VFR training, and radio communication certifications BZF I and II. Practical examinations are conducted by official examiners.
Additional services include introductory flights and sightseeing tours at cost price, allowing passengers to co-plan routes. These tours accommodate up to three passengers, requiring membership for flight training.
The club additionally offers an active parachuting group, inclusive aviation programs catering to people with disabilities, and organizes community aviation events, fostering a strong aviation community in Kiel.
