Part 8: Special Situations

At some smaller aerodromes, an AFISO provides flight information rather than full ATC. The procedure is similar but less formal. You will still make position calls, report overhead, and join the circuit, but you will not receive "cleared to land"—instead, you will report final, and AFISO will provide traffic information or say "no reported traffic, you are clear to land."

Treat an AFISO arrival the same way: position reports, traffic awareness, smooth radio discipline.
