Subchapter 9.7 – PIREPs and Flight Condition Reports

Full PIREP example:
"Zurich Approach, HB-CDA, PIREP. Position 30 kilometers northeast of Zurich, Flight Level 100, 1445 UTC. Encountered moderate turbulence between Flight Level 90 and Flight Level 110, associated with a line of thunderstorms 10 kilometers north of our track. Tops approximately Flight Level 140. Recommend lateral deviation south of the thunderstorm line."
ATC will acknowledge: "HB-CDA, thank you for the PIREP. That information is useful for traffic ahead. Continue en route."
ATC will also relay your report to other aircraft in the vicinity: "Other traffic, be advised, moderate turbulence reported Flight Level 100, 30 kilometers northeast of Zurich."
