Ready for Departure: The Pilot Takes Control

Example of a ready-for-departure call in German (shown in translation): The pilot says "OE-CMV, holding short, ready for departure" or "OE-CMV, holding short Runway 27, will report ready for departure."

Example in English: The pilot says "D-EFGH, holding short Runway 09, ready for departure" or "D-EFGH, at holding point Runway 09, will report ready for departure."

The controller will either approve your status, ask you to stand by, or—in busy traffic—instruct you to line up.
