Flight Plans by Radio

Flight plans by radio are filed in a structured format similar to the format used for paper flight plans. The elements of a flight plan (when filed by radio) are transmitted in a specific order:

Aircraft callsign Your registration or airline callsign.
Aircraft type: The type and wake turbulence category (e.g., "Cessna one-seven-two, small").
Departure aerodrome: The ICAO code of the aerodrome you are departing from or have departed from (e.g., "LOWL" for Linz).
Departure time: Your off-block time (actual time of departure), in UTC hours and minutes.
Cruising speed: Your planned cruising speed in knots.
Cruising level (altitude): Your planned cruising flight level or altitude.
Route: The planned route from departure to destination.
Destination aerodrome: The ICAO code of the destination (e.g., "LKPR" for Prague).
Time enroute: Your estimated time from departure to destination.
Alternate aerodrome: An alternate aerodrome you will proceed to if your destination is not available.
Remarks: Any other relevant information (e.g., "RVSM equipped," or "carrying cargo").
