Occasionally, two aircraft may be on a collision course. For example, one is on final and one is on base, and they do not hear each other on
frequency. This is rare because most pilots do monitor the
frequency. But if it happens, the answer is a go-around. The landing aircraft has priority. The other aircraft aborts its approach, climbs, and tries again.
