Radio Failure Procedures: Maintaining Safety Without Communication

If you can transmit but cannot hear (receiver failure), your situation is actually less critical because you can alert ATC to the problem. Make a transmission:

ATC will respond, but you will not hear them. They will understand you have receiver failure and will issue instructions via alternative means: light signals, secondary frequency (if your radio is frequency-selective), or by relaying through other aircraft. Remain on your last assigned frequency and maintain your last assigned altitude and heading until you receive visual signals.

If you are near an aerodrome, request landing by transmitting in the blind (see below), then look for light signals from the tower.
