How to obtain ATIS:
You tune the ATIS frequency before you call the tower. Every controlled aerodrome has an ATIS frequency listed in the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP). It is usually in the range 118–135 MHz. Once you are on frequency, you simply monitor it. ATIS is one-way only. You do not transmit to ATIS. You listen until you have written down all the information you need (or committed it to memory, depending on your workload).
The ATIS frequency is often located near the tower frequency but is distinct. For example, at Vienna International Aerodrome (LOWW), ATIS might be on 121.945 MHz, while the tower is on 120.10 MHz. Always check your chart before flight.
