Fliegerclub Erding e.V. is a traditional and active aviation club founded in 1967 with about 150 members. It operates a modern fleet of three single-engine piston aircraft for club flights, flight training, and regional air rescue support. The club offers comprehensive motor flight training towards Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL) with digital theoretical instruction and practical phases A, B, and C. Radio communication training is provided through external partners. Originally based at the former Bundeswehr airfield in Erding, the club currently operates flights from Landshut (EDML) and Mühldorf (EDMY) airports due to changes in the airfield status. It provides a welcoming environment for beginners and experienced pilots interested in motor flight and general aviation.
The club also supports Bavaria's air rescue squadron, contributing to regional safety and wildfire detection. Active members with licenses are authorized to charter the club aircraft via an online reservation system. Fliegerclub Erding fosters a community passionate about flying and aviation heritage.
