Fluggruppe Hermann Köhl e.V. at Flugplatz Hettstadt near Würzburg, Germany, is a historic and well-established flying club and motor flight school founded in 1960. Named after pioneering aviator Hermann Köhl, it offers pilot training for private pilot licenses (PPL) and light aircraft pilot licenses (LAPL) mainly for single-engine piston aircraft. Training includes both theory and practical flight instruction with experienced instructors, as well as night flight (NVFR) and radio communication licenses BZF I, BZF II, and AZF.
The club owns a fleet comprising three four-seat Cessna 172 aircraft and one two-seat Cessna 152, all satisfying strict noise protection requirements. The grass runway is 550 meters long and is typically open on weekends and public holidays in good weather.
The flight school has been an Approved Training Organisation (ATO) since 2015, ensuring compliance with EU regulations and high training standards. The club offers introductory flights and welcomes new members interested in private flying, fostering a friendly and knowledgeable community.
Club members fly at self-cost prices, and the premises include a comfortable clubhouse open on weekends for pilots and guests alike.
