Squawk 7600 is your voice when radio fails. ATC will know you have lost comms and will track you.
You have authority to deviate for weather or safety, even without clearance provided you declare the deviation to ATC as soon as comms are restored.
Aviate first, then navigate, then communicate. You flew the aircraft safely around the weather, navigated to Zurich using the VOR and visual references, and reported the emergency when comms returned.
Stay calm. Radio failure is manageable if you think clearly and follow procedures.
We provide the fastest and most efficient way to learn talking to air traffic control (ATC).
