Position Reports

Position reports must be transmitted clearly and completely. The facility must be able to log your position accurately. After you transmit a position report, the facility will acknowledge it. The acknowledgement may be brief:
"OE-CMV, position acknowledged."
Or it may include additional information:
"OE-CMV, position acknowledged. No conflicting traffic. Continue current flight level."
If you have requested a different altitude, the facility will approve or deny your request:
"OE-CMV, request approved, climb flight level one-one thousand."
"OE-CMV, unable to approve at this time, continue flight level one-zero-five."
If the facility has issued a new instruction (for example, a frequency change or a new reporting point), you must read back the new instruction to confirm you have understood it correctly. See Lection 5 for detailed readback rules.
