Aero-Club Gotha e.V. is a non-profit flying club located at the historic Gotha-Ost airfield in Germany, offering comprehensive ultralight aircraft flight training and flying opportunities. The club operates its own flight school with a structured training program that includes theoretical education in air law, navigation, meteorology, technology, radio communication, human performance, and pyrotechnics for ultralight rescue systems. Practical training covers at least 30 flight hours, including solo flight and cross-country experiences, leading to the acquisition of the Sport Pilot Licence (SPL) for ultralight pilots.
The club owns Aeroprakt A-22LS and A-32 models and previously operated Comco Ikarus C-42 aircraft. Flight training is primarily scheduled on weekends with experienced volunteer instructors. Additional offers include trial flights, flight vouchers, and "Pilot for a Day" experiences, fostering a traditional and supportive flying culture. Membership provides access to club aircraft, making flying accessible even without owning a plane.
