The Aero-Club Odenwald, Michelstadt e.V., operating in the scenic Odenwald region, offers a comprehensive aviation environment with a 604 x 15 m asphalt runway equipped for night flights, supporting year-round operations. The airfield hosts a diverse fleet including the modern Diamond DA-40 with Garmin 1000 glass cockpit, the versatile Cessna 172 Skyhawk for basic and night training, and the ultralight Diamond DV 20 Katana trainer.
The club supports a variety of flying types such as single-engine piston, multi-engine piston, ultralight, motor gliders, hang gliders, powered paragliders, and helicopters. It maintains a rich community spirit with around 100 active pilots and operates its own authorized flight school (ATO), providing pilot training for LAPL (A) and PPL (A) licenses under VFR conditions during both day and night.
Training programs include theoretical lessons, practical flight hours, and radio communication certification in both German and English. The club offers extensive facilities including a new hangar capable of housing up to seven aircraft and a welcoming airfield restaurant with a terrace and playground.
The Aero-Club emphasizes volunteer-driven operations, promoting the joy of flying and ongoing pilot education, making it a valuable hub for aviation enthusiasts in southern Germany.
