The Aero-Club Odenwald, Michelstadt e.V. operates the Michelstadt airfield nestled in the scenic Odenwald region. The airfield boasts a 604 x 15 m asphalt runway with night lighting, enabling year-round flight operations.
The fleet includes modern aircraft such as the Diamond DA-40 with Garmin 1000 glass cockpit, the Cessna 172 Skyhawk used for basic and night flight training, and the ultralight Diamond DV 20 Katana trainer. The club accommodates a variety of aviation types including single-engine and multi-engine piston planes, ultralights, motor gliders, hang gliders, powered paragliders, and helicopters.
The Aero-Club is a volunteer-run flying club with around 100 active pilots and runs its own authorized flight school (ATO), offering pilot training for LAPL (A) and PPL (A) licenses under VFR conditions during day and night. Training includes theoretical lessons, practical flight hours, and radio communication certification in both German and English.
Facilities include a new spacious hangar for up to seven aircraft and an inviting airfield restaurant with a terrace and playground, making it a community hub for aviation enthusiasts and visitors.
The club is dedicated to flight enjoyment and aviation education, providing excellent opportunities for pilot licensing and community engagement in the Odenwald region.
