Aeroclub Saarlouis e.V. is a nonprofit flying club based at Saarlouis-Düren airfield (ICAO: EDRJ), operating since 1978 with a focus on affordable and accessible flight opportunities. They operate the Aquila A210, a two-seat Very Light Aircraft (VLA) featuring a fuel-efficient Rotax engine, known for good handling and cockpit space. Training includes the Private Pilot License (PPL)(A), allowing worldwide flight with single-engine piston aircraft, and the Light Aircraft Pilot License (LAPL)(A), a European license for flying up to 4-seat aircraft within the EU. The club emphasizes safety and practical pilot education with experienced instructors. It operates mostly on a voluntary basis without mandatory work hours, fostering a community spirit.
The Aquila A210 has been the club's aircraft since 2012, accruing substantial operational hours and proving robust and reliable for club use.
