UL Verein Saar-Pfalz e.V.<\/b> is a German ultralight flight club based at Flugplatz Pirmasens (EDRP) in southwestern Germany. Founded in 1983, it has over 140 active members and is a central hub for ultralight aviation in the region.
The club offers comprehensive training for the Sport Pilot License SPL-F (for aerodynamically controlled ultralight aircraft) including both theory and practical instruction on club-owned aircraft such as FK9 and C42. Training for ultralight aircraft in the 120 kg class is also available.
Students benefit from year-round practical training with theoretical courses typically held in winter and spring. The club also conducts regular courses for the BZF 1 international radio communication license.
Members enjoy an active social club life with monthly meetups, a summer festival, and affordable hangar space for private aircraft. The club is home to various ultralight aircraft types including trikes, gyrocopters, biplanes, high-wing and low-wing aircraft from various materials including wood, metal, and carbon fiber.
A unique aspect is the club's strong community with expert members including aviation examiners, flight instructors, and a medical examiner available for flight fitness evaluations.
With good facilities at Pirmasens airfield and a commitment to cost-effective and authentic ultralight flying experiences, the UL Verein Saar-Pfalz e.V. offers an excellent environment for student pilots and ultralight aviation enthusiasts.<\/p>
