Flugring Salzburg is a flight club and flight school based at Salzburg Airport (ICAO: LOWS), established in 1950. It offers modern, flexible, and individualized pilot training with no fixed course dates, allowing students to start anytime. The training programs cover a wide range including PPL (A), Night VFR, IFR, alpine flying, aerobatic, taildragger flying, radio communication licenses, and simulator sessions.
The fleet consists of versatile single-engine piston aircraft such as Cessna 150, 172, 182, the aerobatic-capable American Champion 7GCBC Citabria taildragger, and the Piper PA38 Tomahawk. These aircraft are equipped with modern avionics, making them suitable for comprehensive pilot training including specialized taildragger and aerobatic instruction.
Flugring Salzburg operates its own Austro Control Examination Center providing theory exams on site and offers extensive computer-based theoretical training combined with face-to-face lessons to optimize learning time and reduce costs. Additional advanced training options include UPRT and mountain flying, appealing to pilots seeking thorough and diverse flight education.
