Flugsportverein Cumulus Uelzen e.V. is an active aviation club based at Flugplatz Uelzen in Gerdau/Barnsen, Germany, located between Hamburg and Hannover in the Lüneburger Heide region. The club operates a diverse fleet including modern motor aircraft such as the Aquila AT01, and Cessna 172, as well as various gliders like the DG 505 and ASK 13. The motor aircraft fleet meets strict noise reduction standards.
The club operates an EU-approved flight school offering comprehensive pilot training programs including Private Pilot License (PPL-A), Light Aircraft Pilot License (LAPL-A), and Sailplane Pilot License (SPL + TMG), along with theoretical instruction, radio communication license courses (BZF I & II), and ICAO language proficiency tests. The flight school requires full membership.
