Luftsportverein Kiel e.V. is a well-established aviation club located at Kiel-Holtenau Airport (ICAO: EDHK) in Germany. It features a motorflight group with about 120 members and 90 active pilots operating a fleet of 2- and 4-seat noise-protected aircraft including models like Robin HR 200, multiple Cessna 172 variants, Piper Archer PA28, and Diamond Super Dimona motor gliders. The fleet is suitable for both pilot training and recreational flying, with capabilities for local flights and extended tours across Europe and North Africa.
The club offers comprehensive pilot training programs from beginner level to advanced, including Private Pilot License (PPL-A) and Light Aircraft Pilot License (LAPL-A). Training is provided by experienced volunteer instructors and covers both theoretical and practical instruction, including night VFR training and radio communication certifications (BZF I and II). Practical exams are conducted by accredited examiners.
Additional services include introductory flights and sightseeing tours at cost price, where passengers can assist in route planning. Flights accommodate up to three passengers alongside the pilot, though membership is required for flight training.
The club also supports an active parachuting group and inclusive aviation programs for people with disabilities. It is active in community and aviation events promoting general aviation and pilot education in Kiel.
