Brief description Motorfluggruppe Zürich

The Motorfluggruppe Zürich (MFGZ) is Switzerland's oldest and largest motor flying club, located at Zürich Airport with nearly 100 years of history. It operates one of the country's largest flight schools, offering comprehensive pilot training programs since 1929. Students train in a professional environment alongside commercial airline traffic, using the same runways as major passenger jets. The training programs include Private Pilot License (PPL), Instrument Rating (IR), Commercial Pilot License (CPL), night flying, flight instructor courses, and simulator sessions. The club boasts a diverse fleet including Sonaca S201, Diamond DA40 NG, Cessna 172, Piper PA-28 Archer II, DA42 NG, and Pilatus PC12NG aircraft, suitable for single-engine piston, multi-engine piston, and complex aircraft training. Additional services include scenic flights over Swiss landscapes and extensive flight maintenance following European standards. MFGZ fosters member camaraderie with regular social events, lectures, and navigation flights abroad, operating as a club with statutes and a volunteer board. The club emphasizes quality instruction by experienced pilots and provides robust infrastructure including simulators, briefing rooms, handling, and pilot lounges for its members.
