The Motorfluggruppe Zürich (MFGZ) is Switzerland's oldest and largest motor flying club and one of its largest flight schools, located at Zurich Airport. Established in 1928, MFGZ operates in a professional international environment where students train alongside commercial airline traffic on the same runways as major passenger jets like Airbus and Boeing. The flight school is part of the Swiss Pilot School Association and meets European EASA standards. Training programs include Private Pilot License (PPL), Instrument Rating (IR), Commercial Pilot License (CPL), night flying, flight instructor courses, simulator sessions, and advanced ratings such as Multi Engine Piston (MEP) and the complex Pilatus PC12NG. The diverse aircraft fleet consists of modern single and multi-engine piston airplanes including Sonaca S201, Diamond DA40 NG, Cessna 172, DA42 NG, and the complex PC-12. Additional offerings include scenic flights over the Swiss landscapes, extensive maintenance services certified under a CAO organization, and a vibrant club tradition fostering camaraderie and pilot development through events, lectures, and navigation flights abroad. MFGZ provides a comprehensive and quality-centered aviation education at a major international airport.
