Fluggruppe Seeland is a motor flight club and flight school based at the Biel-Kappelen airfield (ICAO: LSZP) in the picturesque Seeland region of Switzerland. It offers a strong community atmosphere with a focus on private pilot training for PPL and LAPL licenses. The training includes comprehensive theoretical education covering navigation, meteorology, flight radio communication, air law, and practical flight training stages. The club operates a fleet of light motorized aircraft including Cessna 172, Tecnam P2002-JF, Tecnam P2008-JC, and Robin DR-400 models suitable for training and sightseeing. The flight school emphasizes personal support and a relaxed learning environment.
Fluggruppe Seeland also offers scenic round flights over the Bernese Seeland, Jura mountains, and the Alps. Popular routes include flights over Bielersee, Chasseral, Emmental, and the high Alps including Matterhorn. Flights are conducted in comfortable four-seat aircraft with up to three passengers, ideal for families or groups. A unique "Pinch-Hitter" course trains non-pilot passengers in the basics of flying and radio communication to safely handle the aircraft in emergencies. The club enjoys over six decades of history, a close-knit members community, and a grass airfield location with good road access.
