The Luftsportverein Biberach a.d. Riss operates the Verkehrslandeplatz EDMB in Warthausen, Germany, offering a well-equipped airfield with a spacious asphalt runway, fuel services (Avgas, Jet A1) at competitive prices, and pilot amenities such as a flight preparation room and refreshments. The club is a non-profit organization with over 50 years of history, operating a dedicated motor flight section and an own flight school that provides private pilot license training under EU-FCL regulations.
The pilot training includes at least 80 hours of theoretical lessons and 45 flight hours for PPL-A or 30 hours for LAPL. Radio communication licenses (BZF I/II) can also be acquired as part of the training, with theoretical instruction available via distance learning or classroom. Training flights are scheduled flexibly with experienced volunteer instructors, emphasizing affordability and a supportive learning environment.
After licensing, pilots can use club aircraft for recreational flights via an online reservation system. The airfield features a guest restaurant "Flughäfele" which is closed in winter, and the club supports visiting pilots with transfer arrangements to nearby Biberach city. The facility also partners with the AERO Friedrichshafen fair and provides continuous updates on fuel prices and operating hours.
