SCP Sportflieger-Club Porta e.V. is a well-established German aviation club and flight school based at Porta Westfalica Airport (EDVY). Founded in 1965, it has over 165 members including 111 active pilots, emphasizing safe and structured flight training with a fleet comprising popular training aircraft such as the Cessna 172 and Piper PA-28 variants. The club offers comprehensive pilot licenses including Private Pilot Licence (PPL A) and Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL A), complemented by thorough theoretical courses that cover essential subjects like air law, meteorology, navigation, and bilingual radio communication in English and German.
Training is organized in three progressive steps enabling solo circuit flying, cross-country navigation, and preparation for practical exams. Additional services include night flight training, multiple levels of radio communication licenses (BFZ I, BFZ II, AZF), flight instructor courses, and charter flights. Beginners can also take introductory 'Schnupperkurs' flights with the option to credit the costs towards flight training tuition.
