Readback Checklist for All Clearances
- Write it down immediately (even if you think you'll remember it).
- Read back the entire clearance /strong> in the same order ATC issued it.
- Include mandatory readback items: altitude, heading, speed, runway, frequency approach type.
- Use correct units: "flight level," "feet," "hectopascals."
- Read back with your callsign at the end (or beginning if it's a response to ATC).
- Spell out ambiguous elements: use phonetic for letters, spell out abbreviations.
- Do NOT read back: wind, temperature, time, callsigns of other aircraft.
- Ask for clarification if you don't understand something.
