Moment 1: Radio Becomes Intermittent

You hear: "HB-CDA, Zurich Sector, say your altitude and heading."

You attempt a response, but ATC does not acknowledge. You try again, louder. Still nothing. Your radio has lost transmit capability.

Your immediate actions:

Squawk 7600 on your transponder This tells ATC you have lost communications.
Attempt to restore your radio: Check frequency verify you are on 120.4, check volume and squelch.
If still no transmit, try 121.5 MHz or the approach frequency 119.25 MHz. Transmit blind: "Zurich Approach, HB-CDA, radio failure, Flight Level 120, en route to Zurich, squawk 7600."
