The Trap: Wind is provided for information, not for readback. Some pilots read back the wind and confuse the communication.

Issued: "OE-DMS, continue approach, wind zero-eight-zero degrees at eight knots, runway zero-eight right." Wrong readback: "Roger, wind zero-eight-zero at eight, runway zero-eight right." Correct readback: "Roger, runway zero-eight right." OR "Runway zero-eight right, OE-DMS."

Wind is automatically acknowledged when you read back the runway.

Rule: Do not read back wind unless ATC specifically asks for it (rare). Wind is for information only.
