Aeroclub Elbe Weser Karlsh f6fen e. V. operates the private Karlsh f6fen airfield near Gnarrenburg, Germany, offering comprehensive flight training programs focused on European pilot licenses such as the Light Aircraft Pilot Licence (LAPL) and Private Pilot Licence (PPL) following EASA regulations. The club's fleet includes well-equipped single-engine piston aircraft models like Robin DR400/125, Cessna 150, Cessna 172, and variants of Piper PA28 (Cherokee and Archer).
The theoretical training covers essential topics including aviation law, human performance, meteorology, communication, basic flying principles, operational procedures, general aircraft knowledge, flight performance and planning, and navigation. Dedicated radio communication courses prepare pilots for BZF I, BZF II, and AZF certifications necessary for both domestic and international flight operations. Training is provided in German and English.
Night flight training under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) is available during winter months upon request. Membership in the club is mandatory to begin flight training. The Karlsh f6fen airfield is a private special landing site (PPR), known for its hospitality and popularity among visiting pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Aircraft chartering is exclusively available to active club members for private use.
