Luftsportclub Niederweser e.V.

The Luftsportclub Niederweser e.V. (LSCN) is an established aviation club based at Flugplatz Hüttenbusch near Worpswede, Germany (ICAO: EDXU), operating since 1968. The club focuses on motor gliders and very light aircraft, maintaining a fleet of four well-maintained aircraft including the Super Dimona HK36 TTC Diamond Aircraft, Scheibe Falke SF 25 (two units), Katana DV20 Diamond Aircraft, and Cessna 172H Reims Aviation. These aircraft offer a blend of powered flight and gliding capabilities, valued for cost-effective training and recreational flying.

Flying costs at LSCN are managed affordably through minute-accurate billing that includes fuel costs. Members pay a monthly fee, with discounts for students, and only pay for actual flight time, excluding taxi times. The club prioritizes safety, with well-maintained aircraft and active member involvement in upkeep through mandatory work hours.

LSCN offers pilot training programs for the Private Pilot License (PPL-A) and Light Aircraft Pilot License (LAPL-A), mainly employing motor gliders for practical instruction, supplemented with comprehensive theoretical education available in presence or remote formats. While LSCN does not operate a formal flight school, it provides structured pilot theoretical instruction and practical guidance.

The club is accessible by road approximately 30 minutes from Bremen and welcomes aviation enthusiasts for trial and sightseeing flights, with activities often visible via field WebCams.
